Following a one-year hiatus, DeKalb–Peachtree Airport (PDK) is preparing to bring the thunder back to metro Atlanta with the return of the Good Neighbor Day Air Show & STEM Expo on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, this year’s event will feature an expanded lineup of world-class performers, military aircraft, a daytime STEM Expo, and one of the Southeast’s most exciting night air shows. For more than four decades, Good Neighbor Day has connected DeKalb–Peachtree Airport with the local community. This year’s event represents an exciting evolution, combining aviation entertainment with education while showcasing some of the finest civilian and military performers in the country.
“We’re thrilled to welcome families back to one of Atlanta’s longest-running aviation traditions,” said Hunter Hines, Airport Director. “This year’s lineup offers something for everyone—from thrilling military flybys and world-class aerobatics to educational exhibits and unforgettable nighttime performances.”
Among the headline attractions is the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, one of the nation’s premier military demonstration teams. The Golden Knights will perform two parachute demonstrations during the event—one during the afternoon air show and a second dramatic jump during the night program. The evening air show will also feature Matt Younkin’s legendary Beech 18, widely regarded as one of the most spectacular nighttime aerobatic performances on today’s air show circuit. Flying a brilliantly illuminated historic twin-engine aircraft, Younkin’s routine combines graceful aerobatics with synchronized pyrotechnics and lighting effects, creating a breathtaking spectacle rarely seen anywhere in the world.
Adding even more excitement will be Randy W. Ball, North America’s premier civilian jet demonstration pilot. Flying his iconic MiG-17, Ball has amassed more than 1,800 air show performances, thrilling audiences with high-speed passes, precision aerobatics, and the unmistakable sound of classic Cold War jet power. Returning to PDK is fan favorite Skip Stewart, one of the world’s most entertaining air show pilots. With more than 10,000 flight hours, a distinguished career in competitive aerobatics, and decades as one of aviation’s premier performers, Stewart continues to captivate audiences with his aggressive low-level aerobatic routine and unmistakable showmanship.
Although DeKalb–Peachtree Airport’s metropolitan airspace and runway configuration prevent the airport from hosting full military jet aerobatic demonstration teams, the 2026 Good Neighbor Day Air Show will still deliver plenty of military aviation excitement. Attendees can look forward to a spectacular high-speed military showcase featuring thunderous flybys that visitors won’t just hear—they’ll feel. The showcase includes a rare formation of four F-15 Eagles from the Louisiana Air National Guard’s renowned 159th Fighter Wing, along with a special appearance by a QF-16 Fighting Falcon from the 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron.
Families will also enjoy the colorful GERONIMO! Skydiving Team, whose skydivers descend dressed as popular superheroes before interacting with children throughout the event, making them one of the show’s most popular family attractions.
Keeping the excitement firmly on the ground will be Jerry Lynn McCart and Paul Sieli, pilots of the incredible HomeWrecker and Wicked Willy. Capable of speeds approaching 375 mph, the triple-engine jet-powered semi-truck and jet-powered race car deliver an unforgettable combination of speed, noise, and fire that has become a favorite at air shows across the country.
Beyond the aerial performances, visitors can explore a full STEM Expo, static aircraft displays, aviation exhibits, and family-friendly activities before the action continues into the evening with the night air show, a drone light show, and fireworks.
